This service has particular relevance where improvements to existing shielded radiotherapy treatment facilities are involved, in particular with linear accelerator (linac) bunkers, where shielding requirements are complex.

Obtaining the right RF shielding solution becomes more complicated if building modifications are involved, space restrictions exist or the current shielding needs upgrading.

These critical safety matters can all be coordinated through a single contact point, whose focus is on achieving economic, practical answers to sophisticated shielding problems. This is a pre-requisite to having a shielding project delivered on time and on budget.

The on-site shielding testing is split into two main sections:

Ionising Radiation: Mistakes in the structural shielding for a linear accelerator can (i) be very costly to rectify and (ii) pose a real threat to the programme. EEP recognises this risk.
