RADIO FREQUENCY SHIELDED WINDOWS

Radio frequency shielded windows are manufactured from a fine metal mesh laminated between sheets of glass or acrylic. For some applications for smaller windows the mesh is cast into allyl carbonate. The most commonly used mesh is stainless steel with a wire diameter of 0.03 or 0.05 mm and 80 or 100 opi (openings per inch), however alternative meshes are used for specific applications.

The shielding effectiveness does not only depend on the mesh but also the method of connecting the window to the surrounding RF shield. EEP Ltd can advise on the best solution for each individual application.

EEP can produce window designs to suit most requirements including double glazed units, triple laminated units, tinted or blast proof glass.
