EEP are one of the few companies worldwide that have developed pulse injection equipment capable of delivering and measuring pulses that meet the most stringent military standards.
Most EMP testing has three distinct phases:
Firstly, the EMP Shield will have a Shielding Effectiveness Attenuation Test to confirm it will keep out the radiated EMP signals across the specified frequency range. This requires multiple test points and frequencies to test ALL aspects of the shield.
Secondly, the electrical and signal points of entry (PoE’s) must be tested with a fast rise time high current signal, this is called Pulse Current Injection (PCI) Testing. EEP are one of the few companies worldwide that have developed pulse injection equipment capable of delivering and measuring pulses that meet the most stringent military standards.
Third and finally, Continuous Wave Immersion (CWI) Testing is carried out on the completed EMP facility with its equipment installed and functioning. This is carried out using a range of large antennas and signal generators to illuminate the EMP facility and measure the internal signals, and monitor how it functions.
Considering the vital role of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) protection in a facility, comprehensive testing is essential for protecting the integrity of the facility. EEP have extensive knowledge, expertise and equipment to undertake all testing phases.
